Camping Des Familles is located on a strip of land between the mouth of the Gironde and the Atlantic, just above Bordeaux in the Médoc. An area with vineyards, woods, dunes and above all plenty of water. The ocean of course but also large lakes (Carcans, Lacanau, Biscarosse, Parentis) and the River Gironde which is very wide here. The beautiful bay of Arcachon is just to the south.

If you are looking for a family camp site with an authentic French ambiance, close to the sea, Des Familles is the place for you! It's just 4 km from the beautiful sandy beach on France's west coast, along a road through the woods. Also nice to do by bike. There is a small, friendly restaurant right by the sea so you don't have to go straight home after a day on the beach. Back 'home' on the camp site there is a safe, fenced in swimming pool with a paddling pool for the youngest, a sun terrace and several deckchairs. There is a basic restaurant with a terrace and views of the jeu de boules green. And the children will always make holiday friends at the lovely playground and by the table tennis.

For trips out take the ferry to the old town of Royan on the other side of the Gironde and visit La Palmyre Zoo. Or visit one of the many chateaux of the Médoc! There are several theme parks in Arcachon as well as Europe's highest dune! You can pamper yourself in the Thalazur spa in Châtelaillon-Plage (Turkish baths, massages, swimming pool, jacuzzi and much, much more).
