Camp site Des Grottes

General
Camping Des Grottes is located in the middle of the imposing mountains of the French Pyrenees. The camp site overlooks one of the Pyrenees' most important sights: the Niaux caves with prehistoric wall paintings, a world famous archaeological monument. The medieval castle of Foix is also close to the camp site. A tranquil mountain stream babbles through the valley right past this natural camp site. The grounds match perfectly the image that most campers - quite rightly- have of the Pyrenees: genuine, basic but pure nature and above all, full of character.

There is a swimming pool on the camp site with a separate shallow pool for small children and two lovely water slides. For a real treat visit the go-cart track at Aigues-Vives, whilst several professional organisations will instruct you during a day of canyoning, rock climbing, rafting or potholing (exciting guided tours trough grottos and crevices). You can also go mountain biking or paddle your canoe in a relaxing way, or simply enjoy the beautiful views of the distant sun.

The city state of Andorra is just 55 km from the camp site, a lovely place for a day out or for bargain shopping thanks to Andorra's generous tax environment. Keep on going and you are in Spain.
