Germany - Bavaria - Bavarian Forest
AZUR Ferienzentrum Zwiesel
General

The camp site which only has touring pitches is located in a beautiful setting with lovely woods in undulating countryside. Here you are in Europe's biggest forest which connects to the Bohemian Forest on the Czech side of the border. In spring and summer the camp site organises all types of activity; 'entertainment programme' is not the right term as all types of unusual and original event are organised, much in keeping with German tradition: egg hunts at Easter, bonfires, farm days for the children, traditional folk music and much more! There is a children's playground with real wigwams.
This is also a wonderful holiday area in winter. There is plenty of wintersport recreation in the area around the Arber and the Grosser Falkenstein, but Zwiesel also has a competition piste where world cup competitions are held. When the snow is on the ground you have more than 200 km of cross country tracks at your disposal in the vicinity. In both summer and winter you can make lovely trips to the Arber and the Großer Falkenstein summits with wonderful views of the wooded countryside. And don't miss out on the chance to visit historic Passau on the Danube, Regensburg or the Czech Republic! The area around Zwiesel is renowned as a 'Luftkurort' due to its clean mountain air.
