Campingpark Lünburger Heide is located in a lovely pine forest, the Fichtelwald. This is not a camp site with all the frills; simplicity, relaxation and the nature are top attractions here. On the site there is a lovely swimming pool in an open spot in the woods, table tennis, a playground and entertainment for the children. And to make life easier for you, a camp shop and restaurant. Slightly further away in Egestorf there is a lovely recreational lake in the countryside with sunny lawns: AquaDies Egestorf. New since the end of 2006: the SnowDome, an indoor ski hall complete with ski lifts!
Just outside the camp site you will discover a an impressive nature reserve, possible Germany's most popular destination for recreation and holidays. In spring and summer especially you can go for wonderful walks when the heath is displaying its orange and purple hues. Or a cycle trip of course, bikes can be rented at the camp site. In several towns close by (including Hanstedt) you can rent a covered wagon for a relaxing trip through the woods and over the heath. There is a lovely animal park in Ninsdorf, the Wildpark Lüneburger Heide. Also in the area, the Serengeti Safari Park, a film museum in Bendestorf, the Haus der Natur in Döhle (1.5 km walk from the camp site), the Wilseder Berg with stunning panoramas and the Heidepark Soltau amusement park with the world's biggest wooden roller coaster! If you have a day spare for a city trip, well known towns are all around the Heide such as Bremen, Celle, Lübeck and Hamburg (about 20 km from Egestorf!).
