This camp site in the most easterly part of Italy (the area around Trieste) is called Campeggio Mare Pineta Baia Sistiana in full. The name is most auspicious as it the camp site itself! You have wonderful views of eastern Italy and Istria from high up over the Sistiana Bay, one of the most beautiful parts of the Adriatic.

The camp site is about 500 metres from the sea. Free shuttle buses travel backwards and forwards between the camp site high up and the beaches for your convenience. The coastline is beautiful with spectacular cliffs, a yacht harbour and beaches! As for the camp site itself; there are beautiful natural grounds with tall pine trees which provide pleasantly shady spots, and a lovely swimming pool with deckchairs. There is a tennis court, table tennis and a basketball field so you can easily spend an hour or two playing sport if that's what you want. There is also a nice playground for the little ones.

There is plenty to see in this corner of Italy; the inhabitants of Sistiana have changed nationality throughout history so this region has a truly multicultural influence. From here you are soon in the Croatian holiday paradise of Istria (Umag, Rovinj and Pula), the old harbour town of Koper in Slovenia and the Italian cities of Udine en Trieste are not far away. The old centre of Trieste is most interesting, with gracious buildings, squares and museums. The flamboyant 19th century Miramare castle is highly recommended.
