Camp sites in Hungary: wonderful camping on Lake Balaton!

Hungarian camp sites have long been unfairly regarded as being East European. Central European is a much better title as the country is more western and more modern than you might expect. Yet it is still rich in traditions and atmosphere! Something else in its favour: the cost of a camping holiday is a lot less than in western Europe or southern Europe!

Camping in Hungary: a central European holiday paradise.

Most visitors at camp sites in Hungary come to see Lake Balaton or Budapest. Lake Balaton is without doubt a paradise for campers. Tourism plays an important role around the extensive Lake Balaton and there is plenty of choice of restaurants, bars and other places of entertainment. You can eat well in Hungary and they make excellent wines! It is especially good if you are on a camp site in Hungary during one of the many summer festivals!

The other main attraction away from your camp site in Hungary is the capital Budapest. The city is actually in two parts: Buda with its medieval citadel which looks across the Danube to Pest. Of interest here is the famous zoo and the thermal baths. No matter which camp site you choose you will receive a warm welcome everywhere and at prices you can afford.
