Camp sites in Veszprém

The region of Veszprém is located on the northern shores of Lake Balaton, a region with plenty to experience and plenty to see. Take the old spa resort of Balatonfüred for example, nowadays a resort where many people take a carefree camping holiday by Lake Balaton. The old town, also called Veszprém is well worth a visit. Camping around Lake Balaton is popular for the lake itself which slopes gently from the shore making it suitable for children. Lake Balaton is more than 60 km long, the shoreline is of course much, much longer!!

Tourism plays an important role around the extensive Lake Balaton and there is plenty of choice of restaurants, bars and other places of entertainment. It is especially good if you are on a camp site in Hungary during one of the many summer festivals! You will frequently come across the word “csárda” on your camping holiday at Lake Balaton, it means a bar or restaurant. Besides eating and drinking well (Hungarian wines are very good!) there is often dancing to traditional Hungarian music.

Europa Alsóörs camp site is located right on the shores of Lake Balaton. An enormous lake that is known for its pleasant swimming water, the enchanting Hungarian countryside and the therapeutic springs in various places around the lake. The level terrain is extremely well maintained and comprises attractively marked out pitches. You can walk from your pitch right to the water's edge – that's really being on holiday! This year there are comfortable 6 berth static caravans for rent. There is a large water slide on the camp site and there is a shallow pool with a small water slide so that young children are also sure to have fun in the water. Children can enjoy themselves on the wide lawns while you enjoy the sun and keep an eye on them. There is also a playground; and with volleyball, table tennis, crazy golf and tennis courts you will be kept on your toes. You can easily forget the car for a day because there are cafes, terraces and restaurants right next to the camp site. If you really want to make trips out, you are in luck. There are several interesting forts on this side of the lake and the hilly surroundings lend themselves perfectly to long walks in the natural surroundings. It's quite possible you will crack a good bottle of local wine on the way; this region is famous for it! You will certainly not regret visiting the fairytale Keszthely, the cultural capital of the Balaton region.
Füred Camping
Füred Camping - Balatonfüred, Veszprém
Füred is a lovely big camp site on Lake Balaton. The camp site is located in the tourist town of Balatonfüred on the northwest side of the lake. It is a large camp site with many guests and many activities, but there is plenty of room for everybody to enjoy the sun on the grass by the shore of the lake. The main attraction is the huge water slide in the lake. The water here is not very deep, making it a safe place to swim, even for children. There is a small beach close by where they can play. There is a water-ski circuit for the sporty types. The camp site itself has a lovely, modern swimming pool with a separate shallow section and a smaller water slide. The grounds of this family camp site are level and divided into marked out pitches. The amenities are first rate, with a large supermarket, good toilets, a sauna, a playground, various places to eat and bars. You will find plenty of sports facilities at Füred Camping including a tennis court, volleyball field, minigolf and table tennis. Sightseeing boats depart from Balatonfüred. The nearby Tihany headland is also good to visit. Anyone who goes camping in Hungary should visit a wine tasting or try some of Hungary\'s delicious regional produce. A trip to the capital Budapest is a romantic journey back in time, although the city has not only old palaces and castles along the Danube, but modern, trendy shops.
