The camp site has a swimming pool and there is a separate round toddlers' pool. The level terrain comprises comfortable pitches separated by hedges, and the many trees and bushes give it a natural appearance with plenty of privacy and calm. The amenities are all well maintained. Such as the lively restaurant and terrace, the clean toilets and the children's playground. Children especially will love it here with a lake for swimming and playing with their friends. You can take boat trips, and rent sailing boats but don't forget to bring your own inflatable boat. And there is always something to do in Keszthely. It is a friendly tourist centre with beautiful old streets and Festetics, a magnificent castle. The nearby spa resort of Hévís with its magnificent buildings is well worth a visit. Castrum camp site is situated right on Lake Balaton, Hungary's largest lake. This is the ideal spot for watersports enthusiasts to camp. You can take to the water on a surf board or sailing boat right from the sandy beach. Children can play and splash around in the specially laid out playground with shallow water. Don't forget your inflatable boat or ring! The camping pitches at Castrum camp site are separated from each other by hedges. There are also bungalows in the grounds. Castrum camp site has its own cafe, restaurant, shop, entertainment area, volleyball fields and a hardened football pitch. Anglers can be sure of a good catch in the reeds by the water's edge. The village of Balatongyorok is located on the northern banks of Lake Balaton. Balatongyorok has two famous hills, the St Mihály hill and the Chapel hill (Szépkilátó). As in other places around Lake Balaton vines are also grown in Balatongyorok from which the delicious Hungarian wines of the Balaton region are made.
