Simplonblick camp site is located in the stunning Swiss canton of Wallis, not far from the Simplon Pass which runs from Switzerland into Italy. This family camp site is truly recommended for anyone who enjoys countryside and tranquillity, even during a summer camping holiday! Raron is located in the Rhône valley at the foot of the imposing Alps. A fantastic area for hiking, mountain biking, mountain climbing or going on day trips by car. From here you can literally go in all directions.
To the south are the highest and most famous Alpine peaks near Zermatt and Saas Fee, including the Matterhorn, Europe\'s most photographed mountain. The route to Zermatt via Visp and Grächen is breathtakingly beautiful. To the west lies Lake Geneva with towns such as Montreux and Lausanne. The Italian regions of Piemonte and Valle d\'Aosta and famous Lake Maggiore are also not far away. East of the camp site near Brig there is the impressive 24 kilometre long Aletsch glacier. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the first listed monument in the Alps!
Back at the camp site you can enjoy excellent facilities. You can savour the delights of the local cuisine in the restaurant or you can enjoy a drink or a simple meal outside on the terrace. Simplonblick borders a nature reserve with trees and brooks. The grounds themselves are wonderfully natural. In short a wonderful spot for a relaxing or active holiday in Switzerland.
Camping de la Sarvaz is located in an agricultural area in the Swiss Alps. You have breathtaking views of the giant peaks of Wallis from your camping pitch or your chalet terrace. You can go for walks or cycle trips from the camp site.
There is a shop at Camping de la Sarvaz where you can get fresh bread daily. The restaurant is of very high quality. Other facilities on the camp site include a playground for children, an indoor swimming pool and a volleyball field. Dogs are permitted.
The medieval village of Saillon is famed for its thermal baths, vineyards and as a health resort in the middle of the Swiss canton of Wallis. The Saillon community has Switzerland's smallest official vineyard. Be sure to take a bottle home as a souvenir of an unforgettable camping holiday! Montreux and Lake Geneva are also worth a visit!
International Lido is a camp site on Lake Lucerne. Switzerland is naturally the country of mountain, but also of idyllic lakes. This beautiful parkland camp site is set in attractive surroundings a few minutes from the centre of Lucerne. International Lido is an ideal base for day trips to the mountains, the centre of Lucerne or the nearby lakes. The site is closed to motorised traffic at night ensuring that it is quiet.
The site is equipped with modern sanitary facilities, an intimate clubhouse and a kiosk with a wide variety of products. There is plenty of shade on hot summer days which is provided by the vegetation The \'Lido\' recreation area is across the road where as camp site guests you will receive a discount. The grounds are beautifully laid out and maintained with very extensive playground equipment, a beach, swimming pool and lawns with views of the lake.
In this part of the country you will find many more beautiful lakes and pools but if you want a trip out to a very different region: the cantons of Wallis and Ticino (Tessin) in the south are very close by.
